The Regime, Season 1

The Regime is a story of political and emotional unraveling set within the palace of an authoritarian regime. Following Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet), the charismatic Chancellor of a fictional European country, The Regime portrays a leader obsessed with seeking the approval of her citizens and world leaders - including the US. After Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a palace outsider, saves Elena’s life, they develop a deeply volatile and obsessive relationship that encourages each other’s worst instincts. What follows is the political and emotional unraveling of a fictional nation and its leader.
